If I ruled the nation...

There are two things in life I don't really understand: economy and politics. So originally I was going to write this post and call it "Things I would change if I were President." But I decided I don't want to be president. I want to be a queen. And with all this royal wedding business, what better time to write a post about being queen than now?

First let me start of by saying that I would be happy to be your queen. I'm pretty sure if you all start picketing outside the white house it could happen. This is a democracy after all. You should be able to make me your queen if you want. That's how it works right?

Anyways things I would do if I was queen:

1. Make gay marriage legal. I just don't get why it's not. I understand there are a lot of you out there who thing marriage should be reserved for a man and a woman. Well, for those of you that think that... then marry someone of the opposite sex! Marriage between two women or two men will not lesson what you already have with your husband or wife! We should have the freedom to choose who we love. And aren't those that believe marriage is reserved for heterosexuals basing their beliefs on religion? Last time I checked we lived in a country with freedom of religion. This is a legal issue-- not a personal beliefs issue! And on that note... I LOVE this quote:

2. Illegalize Wallpaper. We finally finished taking down the wallpaper in the baby's room last week. It was the second time I've had to do it in my whole life, and I might hate it more than anything in the world. Next house we buy? There will be no wallpaper (and not just because I will then be queen and will have ruled it so.)

3. Make some speed limits faster and some speed limits slower. It makes no sense why on the road I live on-- with tons of houses and families that the speed limit is 40. Then on one of the smaller highways-- with two lanes, no stop signs or lights and NOTHING but cars the speed limit is also 40. It just makes no sense.

4. Acceptable social behavior would mimic that of a night owl. Staying up late, and sleeping in. Exactly opposite of "early to bed and early to rise" I'm working on a catchy jingle.

Those are my first 4 decrees as queen. I'm sure there will be many more that will alter your life in a positive way. What would you do if you were queen, king, president, tribe leader, etc??

3 AM Musings

So it's 3 AM. About an hour ago I woke up to the sound of Sparty chewing through a lamp cord. And then I realized I was hot. Then I had to get up to pee.

This pregnancy thing really is tough! I have never had a problem sleeping. I could get 10 hours a night and manage to get a nap in every day if society permitted.

Then I went to the doctor yesterday and he said something to the effect of, "Now that you're in your third trimester things can get tough- sleeping, getting comfortable, etc. But you're young and healthy-- you'll get through it.

And now I can't sleep. Coincidence? I think not. But since I'm up anyway, I think it's time you had an update on our little life here in northeastern Ohio.

Update 1: I live in a mud pit. It has rained here steadily for the past week. And not just a trickle here and there. We get dumped on once a day. Remember when I used to complain about too much snow? Well now I'm complaining about too much rain. When I finally get to complain about too many beautiful spring days is the day I'll be happy.

So anyways- our mud pit. This wouldn't be a big deal if we didn't have dogs. But we do, and they seem to know just where to step to get the most mud possible. Then they come inside. And while for awhile I attempted to wipe of their feet-- I've just decided to give up. I'm too pregnant for that nonsense. So instead I have little muddy footprints all over our kitchen, dining, and living room floors. The mop and I have become fast friends.

Update 2: I got my bamboopink jewelry yesterday!! And I was so impressed by the quality of everything I received! I started on as a bamboopink consultant last month. I'm doing it in addition to my "real" job and am having a total blast. Plus it's a little something feminine for me in this house overrun with testosterone and mud (listen to me complain, and little nugget isn't even born yet!) Here's a sneak peek:
Preggo in Pearls anyone?
So if you're in the giving mood-- you can help me launch my new business by checking out my bamboopink blog- Team Pinkaboo. You can see more of the jewelry, learn about hosting a virtual trunk show or becoming a consultant, or just buy some of the stuff. You deserve it. Seriously you do!

And while we are at it... belly shot anyone?

Update #3- I also started blogging for my real job at E-Z MIX. Our tidy tip of the week is to store your leftover house paint in Clear Paint Cans instead of metal-- a great organizational tool! Check it out!

That's all for now folks. Look forward to my next post titled "If I were queen of the country."
